The opening of the Carlton

The Carlton Hotel is a jewel of architecture with its listed Art Deco facade dating from 1926. As was customary at the time, the architect, Joseph Abita, inscribed the year of construction in the medallion of the facade.

In the small press release published in the Echo d'Alger on August 18, 1926, you can read the birth certificate of the Carlton Tunis. Still under construction, it was offered for rent before even opening!
