Located at the exit of the city towards Beja and Bizerte, this museum was created in 1882 in one of the Bey’s palaces. This is one of the largest museum in the Maghreb, with its beautiful hand-painted ceilings, majestic ornaments and woodwork, it brings together many archaeological objects and treasures of all Tunisia and especially the world’s finest collection of Roman mosaics, from the most famous sites of Tunisia (Carthage, Sousse, Dougga …).
